The debate over who the better hockey player is between Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin may no longer be a talking point, but a matchup between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins always yields an exciting game. Can the Penguins continue their lead atop the Atlantic Division and hold off the struggling Capitals at home? Be sure to watch the game on Thursday, February 7th at 7pm ET to find out.
Box Score
This was a back and forth, topsy-turvy affair as each time the Capitals would score to take the lead, the Penguins responded with a goal of their own. The game would eventually break open in the first minute of the 3rd period as Sidney Crosby took a Paul Martin pass in the slot and slid it home. Matt Cooke would later add an insurance marker to put the game out of reach.
Three Stars
With two goals to his name, Penguins Winger, Matt Cooke leads the Pittsburgh sweep with First Star honors. Marc-Andre Fleury's 29-save effort and Sidney Crosby's game-winning goal would help to round out the game's Three Stars.
