EA SPORTS’ British Columbia offices hosted fans of the SSX series and active Ustream users had a chance to catch Creative Director Todd Batty’s “E3 presentation” in a made-for-the-web event recently. When we say “E3 presentation” we’re referring to the depth and scope of information as we wanted to share some but not all details on the upcoming snowboarding game.
If you missed the original run live on Ustream, once again, we’ve got you covered. Below you’ll find a smattering of new info and tidbits that escaped during the presentation.
-In years past the music of SSX would change depending on how well you were playing. This audio technology would take the same original SSX tune and tweak it in real time as you succeeded, failed or languished somewhere in the middle. In this next SSX title, you’ll be able to import YOUR music into the game and a similar system will be applied to your tunes. Wow.
-While the idea was considered, there will be no skiing in this SSX.
-The trick system is yet to be fully revealed but Batty did indicate that there will be levels to system leading to progressively more sophisticated “Tricky” tricks and eventually signature tricks inspired by previous editions of SSX.
-Story mode is not going to be a focus in SSX. There are going to be some light story elements to explain why characters are doing all of this snowboarding but nothing anywhere near what we saw in Fight Night Champion’s Champion Mode, for example.
Keep it here for more on SSX as we head toward a January 2012 launch.
