The Sims 4: building community, one enchanted creation at a time

That’s why, with the launch of the new The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack, we wanted to take a moment to connect with some remarkable community members and content creators—folks who have truly let their creativity run wild in this magical new world, and have been directly involved in the development of this newest expansion pack by building lots everyone will get to experience when they purchase the pack.

We chatted with Nina (Ninahschmidt), Sandra Pyka, Megan (CrackedKyber), and The Sim Scrolls to hear what they adore about The Sims, what the community means to them, what it was like to work directly with The Sims team, and just how much fun they’re having exploring everything the Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack has to offer.

Creating magic: meet the creators

Nina, known online as Ninahschmidt, lives in Brazil with her two cats, Nina finds joy in reading, gaming, and sharing her passion for building with the world–particularly through The Sims.

"The Sims is the perfect game to unleash your creativity. Be it creating unique Sims, making up different storylines, or building whatever you want to build. There's something for everyone, the possibilities are infinite, and that's what I love about this game," says Nina.

Her proudest achievement in the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack? A starter home that’s anything but ordinary—full of unconventional shapes and whimsical details that do justice to the magical new world.

“I'm really proud of the Enchanted Forest starter home,” says Nina. “As the lot is in such a unique location, I didn't want to build just a simple starter home. It was very important for me to build something unique, with a very unconventional shape, that would do justice to the beautiful place where it's located. So I spent a long time with this build, playing with different shapes and styles until I was happy with it.”

"The Sims is definitely a safe space and a way of distraction for myself as well as many others, so sharing my gameplay and my crazy build challenges through my channel can allow for others to destress and for a moment forget about everyday life."

Sandra Pyka, a creative force from Ireland, brings her love of art and storytelling to every build. 

Sandra’s favorite lot from the new expansion is the Bar in the Grove—a community space inspired by Ireland’s lush landscapes, designed to be a true gathering place for Sims and players alike.

"It's a community space, somewhere your Sims can meet as a family, or come on a date, or venture out alone to use the chess table as an activity,” says Sandra. “The overgrown feel is inspired by the way nature flourishes here in Ireland. That added the touch of realism and also made this extremely special in my eyes.”

Megan, also known as CrackedKyber, is known for her nature-inspired builds that blend seamlessly into their environments. With a passion for gardening, tarot, and crafting, Megan’s creations offer players a peaceful escape into the heart of the expansion pack’s enchanted world.

Her favorite build from the pack is the Park—a vibrant community garden space designed for Sims of all ages to come together, celebrate, and create memories.

"The park is a really good representation of my building style and feels the most me,” says Megan. “It’s the lot I know I can look at when the pack comes out and feel proud of all the builds I have made over the years that helped shape me into the builder that could create something like that for an official pack! I was also able to highlight the fake stairs I do in my usual builds using base game low fence pieces and regular fences as railings. I was happy to be able to make it work here. It feels like having a special little part of me in a pack and I hope it inspires others to play around and learn the terrain tool!”

"I've been playing The Sims since 2005 when I first started playing The Sims 2 after watching my older sister play it. I loved dollhouses as a kid and creating my own stories with it so I really enjoyed the storytelling of The Sims and getting to build my own homes from scratch with what felt like no limitations at the time."

Known online as The Sim Scrolls, this creator specializes in cozy, magical builds and detailed recreations from beloved fantasy worlds. Their passion for elaborate design and storytelling shines through every project. In particular, she really likes the ResNature lot she built.

“This lot was actually quite challenging for me, but ended up being my favorite! I wanted it to feel wild like it was merging with nature, so having the home partially built into a hill just felt right. But I also wanted to emulate the vibes of an English Cottage Garden, and trying to achieve a lush landscape design on sloping terrain without cheats is quite the struggle,” says The Sims Scrolls. “I just kept trying every plant until I found a few that snapped nicely to the sharp terrain changes and covered the exposed dirt. Once that was achieved, everything else just fell into place. I especially love the arched pathway going under the house to the apothecary room and garden. I think all the levels make it feel more organic and untamed.”
