WARP is warped. While it’s categorized as a puzzle-based action game, it’s really more of a puzzle-based exploding scientist game, and the latest trailer unveils two new ways to wreak adorable, bloody havoc on your captors: Echo and Swap.
Echo allows you to create a carbon copy of Zero, WARP’s loveable-but-lethal protagonist. Trot your Echo out in front of a guard to entice him to shoot at it. Position your Echo between a guard and a lab tech, and you’ve got your very first recipe for exploded scientist.
The Swap ability is designed more for movement than for combat, allowing you to trade places with objects that are roughly your size. However, if you were tuned in for WARP's announcement trailer, you’ll know that Zero can also hop into scientist’s bodies. See where this is going? Take possession, then Swap with a nearby object – like a conveniently placed barrel – and you can cross another clipboard jockey off your vengeance list.
WARP is a portal-based, strategic, stealth-action puzzler (and exploding scientist game) where gamers play as Zero, a little orange alien with a big score to settle. Abducted and taken to an underwater research facility, Zero must use every power at his disposal – including Warp, Frag, Echo, and Swap – to make the ultimate escape. WARP comes to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC in Winter 2012.
