The Electronic Arts Positive Player Award Winner Is Verhulst
Verhulst receives the honor at Apex Legends™ Global Series Year 3 Champs

At Electronic Arts, we believe in the power of positive play and with the Positive Player Award, championing the positive players among us. Our ALGS community is made up of passionate players from around the world, and we want to recognize the individuals who are passionate about positive play. This level of dedication to positive sportspersonship deserves to be honored on a global scale.
This fall, the Electronic Arts Positive Player Award acknowledged Evan Verhulst, an APEX Legends Global Series (ALGS) competitor, who exemplified the spirit of the award during the Year 3 Tournament. Out of over 120 nominee submissions, deliberations by the Electronic Arts and APEX Legends panel, and over 60,000 members of the community casting their vote, Verhulst was crowned the first-ever Positive Player Award winner.
Speaking to Verhulst he recognizes that being positive doesn’t always get noticed, that it’s the right thing to do. When asked "what would you say if you won the Positive Player Award?”, Verhulst commented “Thank you to EA for giving this award. Thank you for seeing the positive things I try to do.” His teammates have described him as a true advocate for positive play, even under extreme pressure.
Monica Dinsmore, Senior Director of Esports Brand, also agreed saying “Electronic Arts created the Positive Player Award to recognize true sportspersonship; an individual who not only demonstrates fair and inclusive play, but also inspires those around them to do the same. I want to congratulate all those who were nominated, and particularly Verhulst as our deserving winner. I think this award really highlights our ongoing commitment to promote healthier behavior, by creating positive interactions, positive experiences and positive environments for all.”
Since the awarding of the Positive Player Award on September 10, Verhulst hopes to play it forward by spreading positivity with his teammates, the league, and beyond.
